We all Serve. Who's your Master?
King Solomon is purported to be the wisest and wealthiest man to ever live. He was heir to the throne when his father died. He did not feel he was worthy of the honor of being King, neither did he feel he was capable of serving his people to the fullest. He prayed that God would grant him Wisdom so that he could make the right decisions. He chose wisdom over wealth. Why?
Had he chosen wealth, maybe he would be a good King, but his focus was on himself and his desires. He chose wisdom in his decision making. This way he did what was best for everyone concerned, including himself.
Lies tell you what you want to hear, not the truth. It begins as a little white lie, one that boosts the ego but covers the truth. That worked well, so let's try another one. Soon, our stories catch us off guard. A story told to one doesn't match the story told to another. In order to smooth out the discrepancies, we fabricate an even greater story. It is a vicious circle. It keeps growing until we believe the stories as we told them, not as the actual occurrence. It always reaches the point of being a painful admission of guilt. Although it may be painful to tell the truth, it is always less painful to tell the truth at the beginning without the added guilt of all the lies trying to cover up the truth. The Truth will set you Free.
Deception is the direct result of believing lies. You believe what is untrue. You build your foundations upon quicksand instead of solid rock. The result being that your power keeps fleeting and you can't move ahead because you keep falling. Pray that you find the wisdom to know the difference between truth and lies.
Vanity swells your pride until you strut like a rooster in a flock of hens. It makes you feel like you're better than everyone else. Truth is, everyone is not as impressed with your behavior as you are. Choose a behavior that makes everyone proud to know you.
Power is the feeling that you hold over something or someone. It is a false sense, because each person's power comes from within. The only power you wield over another is by their license. They grant the power to you. When you resolve to hold your own power and grant license to no one, you become Power in itself. Choose to use this power wisely for the benefit of all concerned.
Fear comes from granting your Power license to another. You are putting your fate in another's hand. You no longer make choices, but follow another's command. Take back your power and fear subsides. Once again you have the Power to make wise choices and the stamina to achieve your goals.
Cunning tricks you into believing untruth. Lies, if you will. It differs from deception in that it offers something for nothing. You perceive that you have what you have not. It is the carrot on the stick that lures you to a place you cannot reach. Search where you are headed. If you, personally, cannot get to your goal seek another route.
Comeliness in itself is not bad. It is beauty. Each has his own ideas of what beauty is. One may see beauty in the waving fields of grain. Another in the mountainous landscape, and yet another in the sea of tall buildings of a city. Beauty is a gift from God. It becomes a tool of the devil when used to lure another to fulfill your desires.
Hate is what Love is not. It holds the Power of Destruction. Its focus is on destroying everything in its path. It doesn't matter who is involved, only to achieve its goal. Choose Love. It builds on the present to create an even better future. It seeks the best for all involved.
Jealousy destroys love by taking away trust in a relationship. It is the bite of small innuendos and inferences that say, "I don't believe you." It leads to, "What difference does it make if I .....? You won't believe me anyhow!" Trust is the power to behave in a manner for which my partner would be proud of me, and I can be proud of myself.
Belittling is stepping upon others in order to make yourself more grand. Some people believe they cannot climb to the top. Therefore, they must dig a hole and throw others in so they can be on top. This is accomplished through words, and actions. It is possible, however, by words and actions to climb to the top. It is by helping each other be the best that he can be.
Corruption takes many forms. It is inherent to each of us. It begins as a white lie, a slight of words or hand, a passive response to someone else's degradation. If it doesn't involve us directly, we tend to not get involved. When it does impact our person, we become angry. We desire harm to those who have incarcerated our hopes, desires, livelihood, and happiness.
We ask others to come forward in our behalf to correct the wrongs. They understand our desires, but care ultimately only for their own happiness, livelihood, etc. Standing up for someone else could, and most likely would, impact their own lives in a negative way. This only encourages more corruption.
If only we could stand behind each other in our difficulties, the possibilities of changing our world for the better are enormous. Remember: United we Stand. Divided we Fall. This country was founded on the very unity of which I speak. Our forefathers took a stand against the Power that was pulling them under. A stand so powerful, though there were numerous losses, they prevailed to deliver those freedoms to us - today.
Remember the Christian Martyrs of our past. If they had not been so firm in their belief in God, would you have ever had the opportunity to know God? Or, would you have the freedom to worship as you choose? Yes they died, but to LIFE ETERNAL. We all must die. Must it be without reason?
Humans are to be the caretakers of this world. All creation is subject to man's direction. What direction will you take?
